Society of Virtual Assistants Newsletter: May 2014

Hi there,Virtual PA-233

So I didn’t win Top Digital/Tech blogger at the UK Blog Awards… but I did have a really fun night out – photos are now online! It was a massive honour to be down to the final 10, and it’s a massive achievement as only 1 other blog in the final was an industry specific niche tech blog (and they won!!).

We still have winners at SVA though: Rachel Wall won our book competition, Build A Business From Your Kitchen Table.  Enjoy it! (If you didn’t win, there’s a link to buy it on the competition page – click through and pick up a copy, it’s a good read!)

Looking forward to my somewhat whistlestop tour of on Thursday 15th May, and of course I’m down in Sunderland at the end of the month for the Northern VA Collaboration – I had a sneak preview of the goodie bags last week – they’re good!!

The E Myth

This is one of the books which I regularly recommend to all new business owners… not just VAs!  It may not seem immediately apparent how your little business will ever need a system like McDonalds, but as you read more of the book, you’ll realise why systems are what power great businesses!  And why you, even as a small business, need to have one.

I have a copy right here up for grabs…ENTER for your chance to win!

International Year of the Secretary/Assistant Our series continues… This month we want to know what your soft skills are like – are you great at explaining things clearly?  Have you more than one dose of common sense?

    Dear Caroline,

Thank you so much for the book ‘Build a business from your kitchen table’ – it’s just arrived and looks like it will have some extremely useful tips and information to share. I’m rather excited to have won something! Guess what I’ll be doing today!

    Kindest regards
    Rachel
